Yoko OYAMA

Born in Tokyo, Japan

Became a registered member of the Japan Shinsei Symphony Orchestra (currently the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra), and played 1st violin
1985 - 1988
Studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary
1989 - 1991
Played violin as a member of a string orchestra in Budapest

Returned to Japan
1995
Graduated from the Nippon Photography Institute, Documentary Photo Seminar
1995 - 2008
Participatied in M’s Workshop for photographic artists led by professional photographer Michiko MATSUMOTO
2000
Worked in the photography department of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun (a newspaper in Tokyo) as a contracted photographer

Based in Bali, Indonesia and Tokyo, Japan, producing photographic artwork series.

Started photographing the city of Budapest for a new photographic artwork
